CEDAR CITY, Utah – The Southern Utah University men’s basketball head coach Todd Simon announced the signing of 6’11” forward-center, Ivan Madunic, to a national letter of intent.

“We could not be more excited about Ivan. He will be a cornerstone for us as we build the program to compete for championships,” said Coach Simon. “Ivan has great size and length, an ability to really shoot the 3, and an advanced skill set that fits our system. His drive to succeed and high character are a perfect fit for our program and this community.”

Madunic hails from Split, Croatia, where he earned an extensive amount of playing time on the international level.

According to Madunic, he chose SUU, “Because of Coach Simon.” Madunic said, “The most important thing was for the head coach to believe in me, and Coach Simon thinks I’m the perfect fit for this program.”

Madunic also cited the Cedar City community as a reason why he decided to sign with SUU. “After visiting the beautiful campus of SUU and meeting with all the great people and players, it made my decision to come to SUU easy.”

Aside from SUU, Madunic also received interest from Mississippi State University, the University of Southern California and Brigham Young University. Madunic is the first recruit to sign under Coach Simon.
