DAY 5

#LightTheWorld Day 5 – Jesus Healed the Sick

Stories of Jesus administering to the sick and afflicted are some of the most tender passages of scripture we have. And while we don’t have a ton of opportunities everyday to help others who are physically ill, we were able to find a few ways to “heal the sick.”

  • Today I became an organ donor! I just visited this website and in minutes I was all signed up. I did feel a little guilty, though, because there is so much wrong with me. Color blind, one of my lungs isn’t great, flat feet, bad knees, and the list goes on. But i figured being color blind is still better than being blind blind.
  • We have some loved ones that suffer from various mental illnesses, so Summer and I discussed ways and made a plan of how we can better serve them.
  • Summer complied a bunch of baby food and rice cereal to be donated to the Canyon Creek Women’s Crisis Center. We also got to sit our girls down and explain to them that some families aren’t as fortunate as we are. With that in mind, as a family we went to the store and bought some toys, books, games, coloring activities, hair combs, toothbrushes, shampoo, and conditioner and took them to the crisis center, too.

This being our first year out of school, it was so much fun to be in a place financially that we were able to help out this way.
