DAY 8

#LightTheWorld Day 8 – Jesus Prayed for Others

Some of Jesus Christ’s most enduring words weren’t directed to His disciples but rather to His Father in Heaven as He prayed on behalf of others. As we seek to improve our prayers, we can look to Christ as our ultimate example.

I already spent some time talking about what I believe is one of the greatest illustrations of Christ’s love for us, the Great Intercessory Prayer. Offered just before His suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross, this prayer is often called the great intercessory prayer because as Jesus prayed, he interceded, or stood between us and Heavenly Father, to plead for our salvation.

I think the ability to consistently pray this way on the behalf of others is a truly Christlike action. We really enjoyed today’s “Light the World” initiative.

  • Summer and I offered a prayer for our children.
  • Avery said family prayers and remembered to pray for ALL of her family. It was a long prayer, to say the least.
