Last year my family and I joined thousands of other members of the LDS church and participated in the “Light the World” initiative.
“Light the World” encourages all to participate in service opportunities during the Christmas season to celebrate the life of Jesus Christ. From December 1 through Christmas day, we were provided with a daily theme of giving and service.
Without a doubt, participating in this initiative helped us grow closer to each other as a family and it helped us keep the true meaning of Christmas at heart. I felt it was especially effective in teaching our oldest child what Christmas is really about.
I am genuinely excited to participate in this initiative again this year. “Light the World” has become one of my young family’s first real Christmas traditions and is something we will do as a family for years to come.
