Pessoa

In Portugal’s embrace, where the Tagus gently flows,
I ventured forth to learn what whispered history knows,
Of a poet enigmatic, Fernando Pessoa’s name,
Whose words ignited fires in the heart’s poetic flame.

Beneath Lisbon’s golden sun, in Alfama’s ancient streets,
I sought the traces of Pessoa’s literary feats,
Amidst the fado’s mournful song, I found his soul’s embrace,
In the pages of his verse, a labyrinthine space.

In Pessoa’s heteronyms, a tapestry was weaved,
A universe of voices, a truth to be believed,
Each a distinct persona, with stories of their own,
In his poetic symphony, a universe was sown.

Álvaro, Ricardo, and Bernardo they became,
Through their words, I uncovered Pessoa’s vibrant flame,
A poet so elusive, a chameleon of the pen,
His labyrinthine mind, a maze that never ends.

From Lisbon’s historic cafes to the banks of the Tagus wide,
I felt Pessoa’s spirit, walking by his side,
In his heteronymous world, I found my soul set free,
Learning from Pessoa, the art of poetry.

With every verse and stanza, a new perspective found,
In the alleys of Lisbon, his presence did resound,
From the Tejo to Chiado, through every winding lane,
Pessoa’s words whispered secrets, sparking wisdom in my brain.

In Portugal’s embrace, where Pessoa’s legacy thrives,
I learned of poetry’s power, the way a spirit strives,
To capture the essence of life’s complex, shifting sea,
In the footsteps of Pessoa, I found what it means to be free.
