Cloak of Dark Despair

Amidst the darkness, where anxious thoughts dwell,
A crushing weight upon my chest does bear,
In breathless night, I feel my spirits swell,
As suffocating doubts obscure the air.

Each moment fraught with gnawing, nameless fears,
Like vipers coiled within my troubled mind,
They hiss and strike, inciting bitter tears,
While shadows dance, and solace I can’t find.

Yet in this tempest, I shall not despair,
For as the sun ascends on morrow’s grace,
I’ll awaken from this hellish nightmare,
Embrace His light, and find a peaceful space.

Though anxiety seeks my soul to bind,
Serenity and hope, my heart will find.
