Lisbon Derby

In Lisbon’s heart, where passions flare,
Two football giants, fierce rivals, stare,
Sporting and Benfica, their colors bold,
In battles of glory, their tales are told.

Sporting, the Lions, fierce and proud,
Their history rich, their voices loud,
Green and white their emblem’s grace,
In the Sporting heart, there’s no empty space.

Benfica, the Eagles, with wings that soar,
Their fans in red, their legends galore,
In the shadow of the Águia’s flight,
They fight for glory, with all their might.

In Lisbon’s derby, emotions ignite,
The streets painted red and green, so bright,
Roaring crowds, with chants that shake,
The Estádio da Luz, or Alvalade’s gate.

From Eusébio to Figo, legends born,
In fierce contests, their legacy’s sworn,
On the pitch, they battle, side by side,
For pride, honor, and their city’s pride.

The rivalry runs deep in Lisbon’s veins,
A tale of glory, victories, and pains,
For in the end, it’s more than just a game,
It’s a passion, a fire, with no one to blame.

The Lisbon derby, a sight to behold,
Where history’s stories, in green and red, are told,
In the heart of Portugal, where emotions flare,
Sporting and Benfica, an eternal football affair.
